My passion for this work springs from many years of witnessing the profound growth and relief that people can experience through genuinely therapeutic relationships. I'm committed to bringing myself into the world, and my work, as honestly and compassionately as possible.
I hold a Master's degree in Integral Counseling Psychology and have been in this field for over a decade. In addition to my practice, I've provided free or sliding scale counseling to a variety of populations through non-profits, agencies, and schools.
In my previous career I worked in community and environmental development, as well as wilderness education, and always found meaning in the human growth and healing that took place in that work. What let me know that psychotherapy was my path was an awareness that the immediacy of connection, and of witnessing someone find their way through adversity, was the most powerful way I could impact the world. I still believe this to be true.
My work is informed by my meditation and movement practices, and draws on my own experience of healing through presence and self-compassion. If you are curious about my background and training, check out how I work.
